Camelback Mountain

Named after its distinctive shape, Camelback Mountain is a popular hiking destination in the Scottsdale area. It's known for its spectacular views of the surrounding desert landscape. The hike is challenging and steep, but the reward is well worth it! Once you reach the top you can expect panoramic views of the city and the valley below.

Pinnacle Peak Park

Pinnacle Peak Park is a 150-acre preserve with a 1.75-mile trail that offers stunning views of the surrounding desert landscape. This hike is considered moderate so it's great for hikers who want a little challenge. The path is smooth and wide so you'll have enough space for your group. You can enjoy beautiful views of the Valley and you may encounter some of the local wildlife. 

McDowell Sonoran Preserve

The McDowell Sonoran Preserve is the largest urban preserve in the United States, covering more than 30,000 acres. The preserve offers over 200 miles of trails, ranging from easy strolls to challenging hikes. Along the way, hikers can take in the stunning desert scenery, including towering saguaro cacti, unique rock formations, and diverse wildlife. The McDowell Sonoran Preserve also offers educational opportunities for visitors, with interpretive signs and guided tours that provide insights into the natural history of the region.

Granite Mountain Trailhead

The Granite Mountain Trailhead is located in the Prescott National Forest and offers a challenging hike through stunning desert landscapes. The trailhead offers access to a difficult 7.2-mile hike up the summit which reaches over 7,600 feet. The hike is steep and rocky, but the views from the summit are well worth the effort. 

Saguaro Lake

Saguaro Lake is a beautiful reservoir located in the Tonto National Forest and offers a variety of hiking trails. From short and easy to longer and challenging, each of the trails here is complemented by breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and desert landscape. 

Four Peaks Wilderness

The Four Peaks Wilderness is located east of Scottsdale in the Tonto National Forest. It offers a variety of hiking trails through stunning desert landscapes. The trails wind through rugged mountains and offer breathtaking views of the surrounding wilderness. You have your choice of hiking any of the four prominent peaks that make up the Four Peaks Wilderness. 

'A' Mountain 

 A Mountain is located on the campus of Arizona State University in Tempe, just south of Scottsdale. The trail is short but steep that leads to the top of the mountain, at an elevation of 1, 398 feet. This hike is perfect for anyone as the path is paved up the mountain. Once you reach the top, you can enjoy stunning views of the ASU campus and the Phoenix metropolitan area, including Camelback Mountain and the Superstition Mountains.
